Lucky Weddings

Apparently it's quite good luck to have rain on your wedding day. The jury's still out on this one for me—either it really is supposed to be good luck or people just say it is to keep you from crying. Either way, these lovely brides and weddings prove that the dampness doesn't need to ruin anyones good time. Luckily.

  1. Love this! The last pic with the ice cream truck is my fav:) My bro had rain during their pics and the threat of rain during the ceremony- made for kick butt picks! But, his lady love wasn't too thrilled!

  2. I was bridesmaid at a gorgeous wedding of a dear friend sprinkled with rain...a horse-drawn carriage winding up the lane in the mist - just magical. A carpet of jacaranda petals underfoot, black umbrellas above and love all around made for perfectly captured moments on film. Eight years on...I'd say it's good luck!

So nice to find your little space...what a treat!

  3. Leah— I love that picture as well! That wedding was really sweet. I have to claim the bright red/pink wedding as my favorite though because it took place in Savannah, Georgia. Nothing prettier than Savannah :)
Ingrid— Welcome! Your friends wedding sounds amazing! I'm so glad to have relocated to Australia so that I can understand the beauty of the jacaranda! That would be magical! Thanks for leaving the compliment (and for following my blog!). I've just popped over to your blog and am excited to look at it more thoroughly— lovely, lovely things! x

  4. okay, well that settles it... turns out if you have an ice cream truck, you don't need to worry about having a calligrapher... it's fine...

  5. when I used to work as a caterer, whenever it would rain on a wedding day, we'd tell them a wet know is harder to untie. :)
